Meet Chelsea {McKinney, TX Senior Portrait Photograper}

Chelsea has what I like to call Bohemian Style. This is something I constantly observe with my 12 year old. She can walk into Goodwill or an OMG priced store with someone (not me) who is buying and comes up with the coolest outfits made out of this and that. Chelsea brought in awesome stuff to wear. It was difficult only shooting an indoor session with her because there were so many fun outfits. I’ve included a few of my favs below from this great session.

Some kind words from Chelsea’s mother, Dawn.
Chelsea waited until the last minute to pick out clothes even though I had told her to weeks in advance.
As we are arguing about the choices she made on the way there, I’m thinking to myself “This is going to be a disaster”.
When we got there and walked in, my first thought was…”wow this place is really cool”. The brick walls, the antique looking furniture, the pictures on the walls and the numerous booklets of prior families, students, babies and pets that were available to view.
We got into the make-up session and David and Keli both told Chelsea what “awesome style” she had. I’m thinking…I’m going to hear “I told you so” for the rest of my life.
Chelsea was so comfortable during her session. She had fun and truly seemed to feel like a professional model.
When we came back to view the pics, David had us set up in the view room, just like in a movie theater with snacks, drinks and comfort.
The pictures were amazing…it was so hard to chose. I knew she was gorgeous but some of these photos were unbelievable.
I decided then that we were having family portraits done there.
Thanks David!! You are truly wonderful!

Krista’s Senior Portraits {Allen, TX Senior Portrait Photographer}

Krista came up from Allen to have her senior portraits created. Her timing was perfect as I had a new background (blue tin antique tiles) so we made sure we used it.

I have been creating senior portraits for quite a few 2011 seniors from Allen and have really enjoyed. A few of my favs from Krista’s session below.

Erica’s Senior Portraits {McKinney, TX Senior Photographer}

I met Erica’s family a couple of years ago when her sister, Whitney, came in for her senior portraits. What a great family. There are two more who will be seniors in a few years so by then I should know the family very well. One of the advantages of creating portraits in my natural light room instead of the studio is the amazing way it makes the eyes shine and Erica’s were no different as you can see in the 3rd image. Meet Brady {McKinney, TX High School Senior Photographer}

Brady is a senior at McKinney Boyd High School this year. When I photographed her, the first thing that came to my mind is that she looks a lot like Brooke Shields when she was younger. [I think I just dated myself.] Brady chose an outdoor session so we had it in the morning to try and beat the heat. I still think it was about 97° while we were out there, but that did not stop us from capturing amazing stuff! Brady chose the black and white listed below as a wall portrait. What a great choice as it has to be one of my favorite senior portraits in a long time!

Jessa’s Senior Portraits {Allen, TX Senior Portrait Photographer}

It has been a mad rush to photograph all of the seniors wanting to get their portraits done before school starts, but I have loved every minute of it! Jessa is a very, very good golfer who goes to Allen High School. Naturally we had to include this as part of her senior pictures. We also created indoor portraits. Her little sister, Jordan, came along to observe and assist (she was my light person on the golf shot) and will be ready for her senior portraits in a few years. Some of my favs of Jessa below.

Luke Arrives! {McKinney, Tx Newborn Photographer}

I love newborn sessions. And no, it isn’t because I know I will get a good night’s rest and they probably won’t. It is because I have had the opportunity to meet and get to know the parents at their maternity session. I have gotten to share their excitement and anticipation and now I get to share the pride and wonderment of their new little one with tiny eye lashes, fingers and toes.

I photographed Milly and Andy’s maternity in July and have been waiting for Luke to be born so we could create their first family portrait! He is an amazing little fellow who thinks he can raise his head and look around already!

Below are a few of my favs from their newborn session. Congrats Milly and Andy! You will sleep all night again…eventually

Kennedi’s Senior 2011 Portraits {McKinney, TX Senior Portraits}

How cool is the name Kennedi? Although I had not met Kennedi before her senior portraits I had heard so many positive comments about her. She went to elementary school where my wife teaches first grade. She was friends with my stepson. She is the head of the MBHS 2011 Balladoras (I’m sure there is a technically correct title, but it escapes me). And best of all, she has the biggest, happiest smile I have every been fortunate to photograph. I know her parents are super proud of her! Below are some of my favs from her senior session.

Kim and Chip come in for their maternity portraits and were a blast to work with. Kim loves to smile and Chip is a bit more reserved. We were taking some portraits with this very cool 50′s hat that Chip brought in. When I looked at the first image below, Chip had this “look” and I had to comment, “Dude, look at you, you are the Baby Maker”. I saw this satisfied smile slowly creep across his face. From what I hear among his friends and admirers, he is now known as The Baby Maker. Congrats Kim and Chip. I cannot wait to photograph your new addition next month.

Eve’s Senior Portraits {Allen, TX Senior Portraits}

Last week Eve came in for her senior portraits. Eve is a senior at Allen High, but she also attends Texas Academy of Math and Sciences at UNT, so I was in very smart company. She and her mom both speak fluent French and mine is a bit rusty (not sure I know 5 French words, actually) so I kept making sure they were not making fun of the bald spot starting at the back of my head, but she assured me they were just having fun which was great because that is like an unwritten rule at my studio.

Eve has the most amazing blue eyes, so I made sure we captured them in her portraits. Check out some of my fav images from her session and I know you will have to agree.
